We move the site while the old one stays online. What we need from you to start.

Migration is included with every plan, for as many sites as the plan covers. We copy the site, test it on a temporary address, and only then do you change DNS.

What we need

• Access to the current host: control panel login, or SFTP plus database credentials.
• The domain, and where its DNS is managed.
• Whether email uses the same domain, and with which provider.
• A window for the switch, if the site is busy at particular hours.

How it runs

1. Copy

   Files and database are copied to a new site here. Nothing on the old host is changed.

2. Test

   The site runs on a temporary address. You check pages, forms, the checkout and anything custom.

3. Sync

   Immediately before the switch we re-sync changes made on the old site since the copy.

4. Switch

   DNS is pointed here. Visitors reach whichever copy their resolver knows about; both work during the overlap.

5. Watch

   We monitor for 48 hours and keep the old copy for two weeks.
